Vuree (PaPa) Henderson, Sr., went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Vuree Henderson was born on December 31, 1927 in Opelika, Alabama to William and Julina Henderson.
He was united in marriage in 1949 to Ella Vester Harvey. To this union, two children were born: Janice Davis and Vuree Hender- son, Jr. They moved to Middletown, Ohio in 1952 and joined Tried Stone Baptist Church, formerly known as Friendship Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Herbert Hart. He was a faithful member of Tried Stone Baptist Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee, Church Treasurer and a member of the Male Chorus. He started his career with Armco Steel Company where he retired after 30 faithful years. After he retired, his past time was playing dominos and sleeping; but most of all, his heart and passion was praising the Lord and everybody knew his favorite words were, “If I had 10 thousand tongues, I couldn’t praise him enough.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Vester Henderson; his daughter, Janice Davis; parents, William and Julina Henderson; and a brother, Renfro Henderson.
Vuree leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Vuree (Bernadine) Henderson, Jr., grand- children, Kelly Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Andrea “Sneak” Davis of Columbus, Ohio,
Mona Henderson, Piper Henderson and Vuree “PJ” Henderson III, all of Monroe, Ohio; two great-granddaughters, Kierra Leak and Kanzas Leak; four great-grandsons, Keith Leak II, D’Andre Davis, Lee Craft II and Tysun Henderson, and one great-great-grandson, Kayson Dean; brother, Gary (Pat) Henderson of Oakridge, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends; one devoted friend, Deacon Matthew Collins.
