Born January 4, 1931, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Lloyd and Lillian (Eichelberger) Oliver (deceased) along with siblings Walter Oliver, Larry Powers, Lloyd Oliver Jr. (deceased), Maurice Oliver (deceased), and Monta B. Mitchum (deceased). She was known for her undeniable wit, infectious laugh, incredible cooking, and unwavering faith. Her life was a testament to love, family, and finding joy in the everyday. She will be deeply missed.
She was a devoted wife to Eugene Parham (deceased), from this union she became the mother of Ronald (Vanessa) Parham, James (Pamela) Parham, Olen Parham, Cornell Parham and Lloyd Anthony Parham who proceeded her in death. After several years of diligently raising her five boys, the season of joy returned to Vogus as she met and later married the love of her life, James Harris, who proceeded her in death.
Vogus attended Cincinnati Public Schools where she attended Bloom Junior High School and later earned her high school equivalency diploma resulting in a career as a phlebotomist at Providence Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. After much consideration within this field, she opted for a more fulfilling career in hospital facilities operations.
Vogus’ spirit was rooted in grace and compassion. Her days were filled with prayer, family, song, and the joy of serving her church community. As a faithful member of James Temple for many years, she served her ministry as a choir member and church mother. Vogus Harris later transferred her membership to serve as a faithful church mother of Turning Point Ministries where she continued to serve her community.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, her faithfulness and nurturing spirit instilled in our family will forever be within us. She is survived by Ronald, James, Olen, 12 grandchildren, an abundance of great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
