Vern “Jammie” Wright

Vern Lee Eugene Wright was born March 11, 1948 inMiddletown,Ohio. His parents, Christeen Wright Ringer and Levi Wright preceded him in death. Vern, affection- ately known to all as Jammie, spent his childhood in Middletown attending Garfield Elementary, McKinley Junior High and graduated from Middletown High School, Class of 1966. After graduation, Jammie attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
After college he settled in Middletown working various positions in Middletown and Cincinnati. Several times he was named Top Salesman at The Central Store and Regional Top Salesman for Radio Shack in Cincinnati where he also managed two stores. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia from 1977 until 1982, before returning to Middletown. In the early years, Jammie enjoyed his part time job as a D.J. for the family and all his friends.
Jammie is preceded in death by two sisters and a brother, Terraleen Jordan Milton, Florencina Wright and Charlie B. Johnson, Jr. He leaves the memories to be cherished by many family members. He is survived by: his aunt, Ms. Pearlie Mae Jemison; sisters, Margo (Carl), Verna, Gail, Lorraine and Robin; one brother, Jeffrey; his children, Verna (William), Dawn Nikki, Vernon, Antonio, Michael Charles, Meon and Devin; 12 grandchildren, Kalyn, Niah, Bryan, Kasen, Billye-Nicole, Kadence, Kellye, Antonio Jr., Tonya, Ahmari, Micah and Brayden; special nieces and nephews, Terri (Larry), Shaina, Kristen, Alfred and Wendell; a host of devoted great nieces and nephews, Jasmine, Sasha, Jordan, DeVante, Larry and McKenzie; and a host of other nieces, neph- ews, cousins, family members and many friends.
On March 16, 2015, Jammie let go of his worn shell and transitioned from this Earthly life. His vibrant smile will always be remembered by those that knew him. May God rest his soul.
