Valerie Gresham

Valerie Gresham was born on July 25, 1956, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the union of Fred and Mabel Gresham. She grew up in Cincinnati with her 10 siblings; amongst her siblings Valerie was the most mellow but held her own.

Valerie received her education from Withrow High School. She worked as a janitor for the Cincinnati Board of Education and worked various jobs as a cook over the years.

On November 27, 2022, she departed this life peacefully around the comfort of her family. Valerie was a loving mother who loved the simple things in life cooking, cleaning, spending time with her family and her dogs. She was known as “Aunt Val” to everyone she met. “Aunt Val” got to everyone’s heart through her cooking and her fun loving spirit; if you crossed her threshold she fed you. “Aunt Val” was full of life and spunky personality.  She was a mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and devoted friend.

Valerie was preceded in death by her father, Fred Gresham; mother Mabel Gresham, sisters Paulette Winstead and Lori Gresham; and brothers, Lance Gresham, Fred Gresham, George Gresham Sr., Dale Gresham, Sr., and Allan Gresham; family dog and best friend Toast Gresham.

Valerie leaves her memory to be cherished by her two children Michael Gresham, Sr. and Falon Gresham; two grandchildren Michael Gresham Jr. and Kylie Walker; great granddaughter Adaleigh Messenger; sister Mitzi Dove and brother Michael Gresham; her dog Murphy and host of relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed, but our memories of her will remain forever and always.
