Valentina Agostina Monai

Valentina Monai, 95, of Greenhills, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on May 24, 1931, in Nimis, Italy, Tinas life was a testament to her resilience, deep faith, generosity, sense of humor, and love for family. After WWII, she emigrated to England, and later to the United States, to be closer to her sisters. Throughout her life, Tinas heart remained deeply connected to her Italian roots and her Catholic faith. Tina found joy in nurturing her award-winning flower garden, sharing fun evenings at the casino with friends, knitting blankets and scarves for babies in NICU and veterans, and giving her time generously as a volunteer at Our Lady of the Rosary church. Tina was also a diehard Cincinnati Bengals fan never missing a televised game or chance to cheer “Who-Dey!”

One of Tina’s deepest passions was lovingly preserving the artistic legacy of her father, Giacomo Monai. She dedicated herself to sharing his remarkable life and beautiful religious art with the world, and published his memoir, “A Life Among the Angels,” in 2018.

Tina is lovingly remembered by her sister Eva Brantley, her six nieces and nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Giacomo and Maria Monai, her sister Elda Kennedy, and her brother Raffaele Monai. Though deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is finally at peace, surrounded by love and light.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Greenhills, Ohio— where Tina found faith, friendship, and comfort throughout her life.
