Tyrone O’Neal Williams was born on February 6, 1953 in Gasden, AL to the union of John and Daisy Williams. To this union were born nine children. Tyrone was the proverbial middle child. Tyrone was baptized at an early age. Tyrone loved life and lived it to its fullest. Tyrone was always on a quest to learn new things and share his knowledge with others. He loved figuring things out like cars, electronics, legal system, research, etc. One of Tyrone’s favorite quotes was by Socrates, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” He gave you something to think about.
Tyrone grew up in the Fairmont area of Cincinnati, OH. He exceled in school was proud to be among the elite in grade and middle schools. Then there was his love of the game, basketball! He considered himself to be the GOAT in school and on the community courts. Shooting ball with family and friends was his ultimate pleasure. Tyrone loved track and field, pool, boxing, chess – a thinking man’s game, and reading. He was very competitive and played to win.
Family was the most important part of Tyrone’s life. At the age of 16, Tyrone met the love of his life, Diane D. Edmerson. Diane would say “I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine” Song of Solomon 6:3.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1974 as an electrician. They finally decided to marry on her mom and dad’s anniversary, grandmother and aunt’s birthday and anniversary, Sept. 8, 1989. They were just meant to be together. Tyrone knew that his journey was about to be completed, so he professed to Diane that he loved her for 53 years and she in return. That love has withstood the test of time. The word of God states, Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:8
Together they enjoyed their nephews, nieces and god children, Malcolm and Elijah Kenny. They travelled to several destinations and worked hard at their respective careers. He continued his education at Cincinnati State College with double major in Real Estate and Addiction Studies.
Tyrone and Diane both enjoyed watching “The Five Heartbeats” and “The Temptations” and their favorite t.v shows were, “Documentaries”, “Antique Roadshow” and “Jeopardy”, which Diane won most of the times. Tyrone loved Diane’s potato salad, chili, pot roast, and sweet potato pies. His beautiful soul was so giving and always had Diane in the fore front of his mind. Diane will always cherish the love Tyrone gave her and the Bible he purchased for her as a gift.
