Thomas Cox Jr., age 91, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. He would have celebrated his 92nd birthday on September 15, 2025.
Born on September 15, 1933, in Providence, Kentucky, Thomas lived a life marked by dedication, humility, and service. He worked faithfully for the City of Cincinnati and also spent many years as a truck driver, providing for his family with hard work and determination. His strong work ethic and commitment to family were evident in all that he did.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoyed the simple joys of life. He loved fishing, spending time outdoors, and watching sports. A devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, he rarely missed a chance to cheer for his team, no matter the season. His hobbies brought him peace, laughter, and connection with the people he loved most.
Thomas was a man of deep faith, wisdom, and strength. He attended First Baptist Church of Cumminsville faithfully and lived out his beliefs with humility and dedication. He touched many lives with his guidance, generosity, and love. To his children and grandchildren, he was more than a provider—he was a teacher, role model, and source of encouragement. He believed in the importance of perseverance, kindness, and living with integrity, and he passed those values down to his family and community.
He is survived by his children: Clifford Roseberry (Teresa), Cora Clay (Michael), Thomas Cox III (Dorothy), Tyrone Cox, Vejer Cox (Latasha), and Ronnie Cox (Tina). He also leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory. In addition, he is survived by his siblings Martine Cox and Claudette Ramsey.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elise Cox; his parents, Thomas Cox Sr. and Essie Mae Cox; his son, Anthony Roseberry; and his siblings, Lover Mae Cox, Florine Coleman, Peggy Kendrick, Emily Cox, and Harry James Cox.
