Sharon Mobley, the beloved daughter of Mose Collins and Katherine Collins, was born on February 1, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan. She had two siblings, one brother, Mose Collins, and one sister, Loraine Pasha.
Sharon was a longtime member of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit and later became a devoted member of Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, where she worshiped faithfully for over 30 years. Baptized at a young age, she held a deep and abiding belief in God throughout her life. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1965 and was united in marriage to Archie Mobley for more than 50 years. From this union, two children were born: Kimberly Mobley and Derrick Mobley.
Sharon dedicated 20 years of service to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. In 1986, following her husband’s job transfer, she relocated with her family to Cincinnati, Ohio. There, she continued her professional career, working at Embassy Suites for 30 years.
Sharon found great joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved swimming, traveling, participating in water aerobics, watching movies, and enjoying cooking shows on the Food Network. Cooking was her true passion, and she was especially known for grilling year-round. Music also brought her happiness, with Smokey Robinson being her all-time favorite artist.
Above all, Sharon devoted her life to her family. She instilled in them the importance of faith, trust in God, and the power of prayer, lifting family and friends in prayer daily. She was known for offering words of wisdom to help navigate life’s challenges. Strong-willed and honest, Sharon was never afraid to speak her mind—but always with love. Whether you called her Ma, Granny, Auntie Bean, Bean, or simply Sharon, she was known for her honesty and genuine spirit.
Sharon courageously battled end-stage renal disease for many years. Despite the demanding routine of dialysis three times a week, she persevered for over 14 years, demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience. She fought bravely until her body could no longer endure, and she passed peacefully in her sleep on January 2, 2026.
Sharon’s life will forever be cherished by those who loved her. She leaves behind: her daughter, Kimberly Ford; her son, Derrick Mobley; her son-in-law, Brian Ford; and her three grandchildren, Mya Mobley, Brian Ford II, and Brandon Ford. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, Crystal Pasha and Eric Pasha; four great-nieces, Kayla Pasha, Victoria Pasha, Tiffany Johnson, and Tericka Pasha; one great-nephew, Emanuel Pasha; one great-great-nephew, Marlon Owens II; Kristi Wiesman; and a host of other loving family members and friends.
