Sandra Gail Williams was born on October 25, 1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Preceding her in death were her mother Virginia Williams, her father Eddie Starr, her sister Colleen Mercer, and her longtime companion Michael Poe.
Sandra was known as “Sandy” to her friends and “Cookie” to her family. Sandra was raised in Glendale, Ohio. She attended Princeton City Schools. When Sandra entered high school, she became a member of the Princeton High School Drill Team, which she truly enjoyed. She went on to graduate from Princeton High School in 1978.
Sandra accepted Christ at a young age while attending Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Glendale, Ohio.
Sandra had a very strong work ethic. She was employed by International Paper Co., Maple Knoll, Graphic Packaging, Grippos, and Kellogg. She was always dedicated to her employment. Prior to becoming ill, Sandra would visit or call family and friends to make sure they were doing well and not in need of anything. Her favorite places to shop were Walmart and Ashley Stewart.
Sandra overcame four bouts with cancer. She transitioned into heaven on May 21, 2020. She leaves not to mourn but to cherish her precious memories: her uncle Russell Williams (Sylvia) of Cincinnati, Ohio; her sister Evelyn Starr-Cornett of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; her nephew Ronald Williams (Robyn), great nephew Bryon Williams, and great niece Taylor Williams, all of Chicago, Illinois.
Sandra also leaves behind her devoted, loyal, cousins who stood beside her during her illness: Theoata Hunter, Yolanda Kelsor, Latrice Hunter-Miles, Martina Butler, Rachael Mitchell-Key; and brother-in-law Michael Mercer. She leaves behind a host of friends and family members who will cherish her memory forever.
