To the family of Samuel Nolen, Jr.:
My name is Barbara Flowers, and I have known Sam for over 25 years. He is what I consider to be "my buddy". We would call each other once every week, and just talk to one another. Sam was the type of friend who just "gave it to me as it was." There was no sugar coating, no lies, nothing. when we talked, it was REAL TALK. Discussions from the heart about things that mattered to the both of us. There were some times that he would say things to me that I didn't wanna hear, but he was honest with me. That's the thing that I appreciate the most.
I'm gonna miss my buddy, but I know that he is in a better place. To his sons, Tony & Terry, continue to carry on in his legacy. He was a strong man, and he raised two strong sons. Know that he was proud of the both of you, and wants you both to continue to be happy. To the rest of the family, know that he loves you. My prayer is that God will continue to be with you in your time of mourning, that you would continue to look to the hills form whence comes your help, and know that it comes from the Lord, which has made heaven and earth. To the Family of "Sam" Nolan:; We have been neighbors of "Sam" for over 8 or 9 years now! Our "Good Neighbor"; Sam was forever doing something for my Wife Sally & I!
We are both 'senior citizens';up in age and Sam was our best friend & helper all those years! From cutting our grass; shoveling our snowy drive & sidewalks;bring in our refuse cans; newspaper and various other 'helping hand' chores!
We just want to tell Sam's Family; he was one of the "best' neighbors we've ever had in our 48 years at this address! We will surely keep Sam in our Prayers & will miss him dearly! He was truly our "Good 'Sam'aritan ! Sincerely; Thomas & Sally Haverland
