Sallie Louise Larkins, age 92, drifted away peacefully on the morning of October 17, 2025, with her beloved eldest daughter by her side.
She was born November 23, 1932, to the late Rev. Jesse Finch and Sallie Brown in Stephens, Georgia. Sallie was the 7th of 8 children. Sallie was joined in marriage to the love of her life Roosevelt Larkins (deceased) in Birmingham at the age of 22. They relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1955, to which this union produced 6 children; (3) son and (3) daughters, and a lineage that continues to grow.
Sallie was baptized at an early age, amongst friends and family who loved her dearly. Affectionately known as “Bigma”, her journey on this earth was marked by love, kindness, perseverance, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing left a void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more lives that were touched by her presence. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way she lived and for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eldest son Roosevelt Larkins Jr., grandson Christopher Larkins, and 7 siblings.
Sallie is survived by her loving five children, Kimball Larkins (Tracy), Teresa Wallace (Roosevelt), Norman Larkins, Pamela Larkins, and Marie Hood; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Sallie touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, warmth, strength, laughter, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. Sallie will continue to live in the hearts of us all as the matriarch who first taught us to love.
