Rosie Lee Bledsoe was born in Newbern, Alabama on March 6th, 1940. She relocated to Cincinnati at age 7, where she graduated from Hughes High School with Honors. On December 7, 1957, she married the love of her life, Walter J. Bledsoe. They were together for 67 years until her death on March 11, 2024.
Rosie started her career as a cafeteria worker at Cincinnati Public Schools and went on to become a cafeteria manager. Always striving to better herself, she attended Miami University and Ohio State University, achieving her teaching certificate. Rosie and her counterpart, Liz Gilliam, developed the Restaurant Management Program at Hughes High School. She retired from Hughes High School in 1986.
Rosie was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 22, 1986. She embarked on a pioneering career immersing herself in promoting Kingdom interest and in serving Jehovah. Over the years she aided a number of people in coming to the truth. Rosie had a zealous passion for spreading Jehovah’s word.
Among her other passions were traveling, fishing, playing cards, and spending quality time with her family. She shared a love of cooking and shopping with all her granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Connie D. Roberson, Jack Underwood, and her sister, Louella Moore. She is survived by her husband Walter J. Bledsoe, her two sons Ron (Annie) Bledsoe and Rick Bledsoe; seven grandchildren, whom she adored, Quinelle (Sean) Williams, Angeil (Larry) Moody, Jasmine Bledsoe, Lachelle Cato, Kristin (John) Neidich, and Tanner (Hannah) Rempel. In addition, she is survived by a large extended family which includes an aunt, Mattie Roberson, nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
She will be missed by her family and a host of friends!
