Rosetta Wright, known as Rhodie to her friends and family, was born on January 16, 1940, to Ernest and Anna Gentry. She was the second youngest of the 11 children. She passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at Majestic Care Assisted Living Facility, in Fairfield, Ohio.
Rosetta attended Madisonville Public School and graduated from Withrow High School. She met and married the late Charles Wright Jr. and to this union two children were born, Charleen and Monica Wright.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of the New Misson Missionary Baptist Church, located in Madisonville, Ohio.
Rosetta worked at United Playing Card Company for 42 years. Her hard work and dedication left a lasting impression on her colleagues. Outside of working Rosetta’s true joy came from caring for her family and others. Rosetta was well known for her compassion, selflessness and the love she showed to everyone she knew. She was also known for being funny and witty and had a great sense of humor. And oh yes, she was also known for her great cooking.
Rosetta’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity and unwavering love. Rosetta’s family and friends will remember her not only for the life she lived, but for the countless ways she enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Rosetta leaves to cherish her memory of her two daughters Charleen and Monica Wright, one grandson Caldwell, two granddaughters Makayla (husband Deonta), Mackenzie, one great granddaughter Myla Marie Rose, stepson Branson (wife Lori), step grandson Caleb. Along with a host of nieces and nephews and other family members. Her friend of many years Ronald Brown and his family.
