Rose Lee Figgins was born December 31, 1922, in Lascassas, Tennessee to James McKnight and Lassie Woods. She was the eldest of six children and lived at her home in Rossmoyne until her health required her to move into a healthcare facility in 2021. She married (the late) Booker T. Figgins in 1940 in Wilson, Tennessee and had four sons, Steve, Charles, Hayward, and Raymond.
She obtained her degree in nursing and worked as a LPN at Jewish Hospital located in Kenwood now called Mercy Health, until she retired in 1978. Growing up listening to her parents play the ‘fiddle’ and banjo, Rose enjoyed playing the piano and keyboard she had in her home. She loved sewing and thrift shopping for materials to make her own clothes as well as unique items such as china and knick-knacks, etc. She was a thrifty negotiator and self-motivated private entrepreneur.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her brother Leonard McKnight (Norma), Hayward (son), Mary and Sarah (daughters-in-law), grandchildren Melinda (Jimmy), Bill, Ursula, Booker (Amy), Denise, Sharon, Michael, Eric, Tony, and Joey, seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
