Rosa M. Morrow was the eighth of eleven children, born on May 3, 1944, to Loving parents James and Rosa B. Morrow. Both have preceded her in death. Rosa also had seven siblings to precede her in death: James Morrow Jr., Laura Lee, Mattie Belle, Leola, Eddie Lee, Thomas, and Cleophus. She departed this life on May 15, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Rosa was born in Plantersville, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Church. Rosa graduated from Chilton County Training School. After graduation, Rosa moved to New York to live with her sister Laura, where she was hired by IBM as a Data Entry Technician and from there her career grew through 20 plus years. She retired from IBM/AT&T and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina after she was invited to visit by a manager friend, Shirley, who had retired from IBM and moved back to her hometown in North Carolina. Rosa purchased her Town Home after a year or two living in Raleigh and then moved to Durham, North Carolina and lived there ever since.
Rosa had a love for Tennis after moving to New York and her circle of friends were all devoted to Tennis as well. She loved it and continued to play Tennis in North Carolina.
Her circle of friends also continued to be all about Tennis. She joined the Raleigh Racket Club and the circle of friends continued to grow. Along with Tennis competitions, they enjoyed their wonderful friendships traveling to various places including France, and Africa for pleasure. Of course, in addition to her many travels, Rosa always made sure she visited family twice a year or more on Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Family Reunions.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memorable times, two sisters, Sandra J (Robert) Harris, Ida E. Morrow Tweedy, and one brother Julius Morrow, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosa has many special friends in New York and North Carolina. Rosa lived an amazing life, the life most of us only dreamt about!
