Ronald Kevin Owens, affectionately known as “Duke” was born May 14, 1968 to the late Harry and Mildred Owens. Ronald was the sixth of seven children. He entered eternal life peacefully on March 18, 2021.
Duke was highly intelligent and graduated from Western Hills High School before entering the military. While in high school, Duke excelled in sports. He was a great basketball player and a friend to many. It was in high school where he met the woman who would become his wife and mother of his three children, Angel. Duke went on to honorably serve in the United States Marine Corp, successfully completing a tour in Desert Storm. Duke fully embraced the spirit of being a Marine, embracing the creed of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. This creed would remain with him throughout the rest of his life.
Upon completing his tour of duty, Duke went on to become a great husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest accomplishments and highlights of his life were his three children: Amber Owens, Leron Owens, and Marcus Owens. He coached his children in soccer and basketball embracing his love of sports. With the birth of his grandchildren, life as he knew it became complete. Mekhi Henson, Ase-Ire Henson, and Asha-Mae Henson were the joys of his life.
Aside from family life, Duke enjoyed rooting for his favorite teams (The Cincinnati Bengals and Boston Celtics), enjoying live music, attending family gatherings, and visiting the casino and playing cards with his mother, siblings, and relatives.
On June 29, 2015, Duke married Arnisecia Levett Early.
Duke leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, children, grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. His siblings, Edna Jones (Larry), Felicha Thornton, Denise Thomas, Spencer Hill, Reginald Hill (Theresa), and Randy Owens will remember the good times and comfort each other during their times of grief.
