Robert William Valentine

Robert Valentine passed away on August 20, 2026, at the age of 91.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 3, 1934, to Imogene and Charles Valentine. Robert graduated from DePorres High School and went on to complete his pharmacy degree at the University of Cincinnati. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Robert worked as a pharmacist for his entire career. He took great pride in his work, held himself and others to high standards, and refused to compromise when it came to doing things right. From 1985 to 1993, he served on the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.

Outside of his work in Cincinnati, Robert founded Cincinnati Reaches Out, an organization that coordinated the delivery of medicine and medical supplies to people in Ethiopia, Sudan, and Eritrea.

For the last five years, Robert lived at the Evergreen Retirement Community, where he spent his time getting to know the staff and sharing stories about his days growing up in Cincinnati and his career in healthcare.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara (Rankin) Valentine.

Robert is survived by his children, Chris and Valerie; his grandchildren, Raphael, Aliyah, Gabriel, and Maya; and his sister, Rachel Anderson.

Whether known as Papa to his grandkids, Uncle Bobby to his family, or Mr. Valentine to colleagues and caregivers, he left a lasting mark on everyone around him.
