Robert Lee King Jr. was born on March 19, 1979, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He passed away on December 23, 2024. In his formative years, Robert attended Tabernacle Baptist Church, under the pastorage of the late Rev. Clayton Waller Sr., where he developed a Christian foundation. He was affectionately called Little Robert, Bob King, and Rob.
He began his early education at Princeton City Schools, later graduating from Fairfield City Schools. During his high school years, Robert enjoyed playing both football and basketball.
Robert loved all things sports, especially the University of Michigan teams. He was a fierce collector of throw-back sports jerseys, baseball, basketball, and football cards as well as vintage car replicas.
Spending time with family and friends was important to Robert. He loved his family and cherished the relationships he formed during his life. His daughter Alexis and grandson Jahmir were his greatest joy!
Robert’s infectious smile was warm and inviting, creating positive experiences with all those he encountered. He worked in various jobs in the manufacturing and service industries. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, which led him to obtain his real estate license and launch an online eBay business.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Charles C. Powell Jr., and Mattie B. Powell; uncle, Elbert King.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved daughter, Alexis Ramsay; grandson, Jahmir Bennett; his mother, Mrs. Marcelyn Powell Mahaffey; his stepfather, Mr. Carlos Mahaffey; his father Mr. Robert L. King Sr.; his stepmother, Dr. Anna King; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Payne; Aunts and Uncles: Mrs. Taryn Yarborough (Wane), Mr. Kevin Powell (Ginger), Mr. Brelan Powell; Ms. Kamala Powell; Ms. Tonya Powell; Ms. Deborah Sears; Mr. Lucius Payne; Ms. Cynthia Vaughn; Mrs. Helen Robinson; Mr. Henry Lightner; Mrs. Emma Green (Richard); Ms. Patricia Woods; Mr. Charles King. and a host of cousins and close friends. Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved.
