Richard Steven Anderson, 73, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Harold and Patricia Janet (Lee) Anderson. He passed away on April 14, 2026 at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, Indiana.
A proud graduate of Colerain High School, Richard cherished life’s simple joys-quiet days spent fishing, evenings around the bonfire, and time surrounded by family. Those who knew him will remember his gift for making every day an adventure and his incredible knowledge of Jeopardy questions.
Richard is survived by: his children, Derrick Moore (Danielle) and Patrick Anderson; his stepchildren, Daryl Daniels, Teeara Carr, and Karen Spain; his grandchildren, Dominique Moore, DeAsia Moore, DeMarco Moore, Dionte Moore, DeAriss Moore, Jayden Anderson, Aliyah Anderson, and Adrian Anderson. He is survived by siblings: sister Cynthia “Judy” Dixon (Jimmie); brother Bernard Anderson, brother Michael Anderson (Joyce), sister Jennifer “Vonnie” Meador (Larry), and brother Edgar Crawford; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as special friends, Audrey Mace and Sue Nelson of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He is preceded in death by his brother Harold Anderson Jr., and sister Sonia Bibbs (Conrad).
