Richard Edward Lovett was born in Cincinnati,
Ohio on May 28, 1944. He was the son of
the late George and Cora Lovett. He has two
sisters, Delores (Rev. Walter) Buckner and
Barbara Rucker of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister-inlaw,
Margaret (Charles) Short and Zeathea
Donnie of Akron, Ohio; brother-in-law, Conrad
Bibbs of Hamilton, Ohio; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
He married Deborah Bibbs on December 28,
1976 in Long Beach, California. He is survived
by a daughter, Nakya Lovett and three lovely
grandchildren, Zhanya, Zahir and Zyan Ruffin.
He enjoyed taking the children to the park,
fishing, swimming and playing with his dog,
Princess Layla.
He was known as Papa by his grandchildren.
He lived in California with Larry and his late
and best friend, Edward (Doc) Martin after
serving in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and in
Germany. He attended Central High School in
Cincinnati, Ohio and two years of college in
California. He joined church at an early age and
attended church with his family.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather,
and will be missed greatly by all.
