Chester (Bob) Robert Lewis Jr., 87, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026.
Born on September 7, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Chester Robert Lewis and Virginia Davis-Lewis, Bob’s life was rooted in service, leadership, and deep devotion to family and community. A proud graduate of Lockland Wayne High School, Class of 1957, he served as class president, a reflection of the leadership he would carry throughout his life. He briefly attended Kentucky State University before answering the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably from March 12, 1958, until June 1968.
On August 9, 1958, he married the love of his life, Mabel Emma Fullman. Their union was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and family.
Bob built a distinguished career, beginning in radio at WCIN in the 1970s, where his talent and vision led him to become program director. He later continued his professional journey at General Electric, where he worked as a buyer until his retirement in 2002.
Deeply committed to his community and his faith, Bob was a longtime member of the D.O.M. Social Club and a dedicated Mason for more than 50 years. He achieved the distinguished rank of 33rd Degree and served as Past Master, exemplifying his commitment to brotherhood, service, and leadership. Following retirement, he became a founding member of Higher Ground Church, where he was ordained as a minister and faithfully served others with compassion and grace. He later continued his ministry as Senior Elder at Refreshing Life Church, further extending his spiritual leadership and service.
Bob had a passion for photography and found joy in capturing life’s moments through his lens. He will be remembered for his steady leadership, his generous spirit, and the love he so freely gave to those around him.
He is survived by his children, Vera Renee Brown, Robert Jeffery Lewis (wife Angela and former wife Darlene), and Mark Edward Lewis; his siblings, Rachon Lewis and Kevin Lewis; his grandchildren, Monique Roberts Davis, Mark Lewis Jr., Billie Ewing, Regina Brown, Daniel Lewis, Valerie Lewis, Danielle Lewis, Lorna Lewis, Bobby Lewis, Michelle Williams, and Erika Lewis; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mabel Emma Fullman; his parents, Chester Robert Lewis and Virginia Davis-Lewis; his brother, Donald Lewis; and his daughter-in-law, Shiela Lewis. Bob’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he
cherished, and the community he helped shape. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
