Reba Teresa Chapel was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on July 18, 1923 to Elizabeth Sorrells and Jim Brown. She was the first born of the three children. Preceding her in death are her brothers, William Brown and Harrison Brown.
Reba moved to Cincinnati, Ohio with her parents, Elizabeth Sorrells Brown and Jim Brown in the early 1940’s. She graduated from Mercy Catholic High School at the age of 16. After graduation, Reba worked many years at Mary Manufacturing Company as a Supervisor. Reba loved to travel and her adventures took her to Hawaii and the Caribbean and many, many destinations in between. She also visited 50 of the United States and had a passion for Bingo and the occasional sip of Vodka which was known to many of us as her Happy Hour! Reba was also a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society for over 25 years. She was also a member of St. Joseph Choir and par- ticipated in the Foster Grandparent Program of Greater Cincinnati where she received numerous Awards and Cer- tificates for her dedication.
Reba’s legacy is preserved through her six children, Nona McCray, Michael Chapel (deceased), Joann Butts, William (Willie) Chapel, Jacqueline (Jackie) Chapel- Hardy and Calvin (Cubby) Chapel; five generations of grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly because she truly had a wonderful life and was loved by every soul she touched.
When you take a moment to reflect upon your rela- tionship with Reba, we’re sure it will make you laugh and smile because she was truly a gift from God.
