Mr. Prince Amin Asante was born on June 6, 1966 in Asisiriwa in the Bosomtwe district of Ashanti region of Ghana to Opanin Kofi Asante and Madam Akua Kraa (Pomaa) all of blessed memory.
He attended Asisiriwa Methodist Primary School and continued to Asisiriwa middle school. After middle school, he was relocated to Kumasi by his elder brother, the late Ampem Alhassan and later gained admission to the now Kumasi Technical university (formerly Kumasi Polytechnic) to continue his education.
After completing his schooling at the Kumasi Technical University, he was employed at the Kumasi city council (now KMA) where he worked as an administrator for over 8years.
He later moved to Elubo in the Western Region of Ghana to continue his trade. After a few years in Elubo, he finally moved to New York (USA) in 1993.
While in New York, He went to school at the American Medical Academy and got certified as a Medical Assistant and a phlebotomist. He worked at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York for about seven years. He later moved to Cincinnati Ohio about 12 years ago. He worked at Cincinnati children’s hospital for a little over two years. He started getting sick and couldn’t work actively anymore.
Prince Asante, popularly known as Paapa Asante, was blessed with 12 children with 5 women (Madam Alice Akomeah, Madam Akosua Afrah, Madam Dora Aban, Madam Joyce Fosuaa, Madam Janet Arthur). The children are; Anita Asante, Nathaniel Kofi Asante, Judith Asante, Kofi Asante Jnr, Ampem Asiedu Asante, Bright Asante, Gideon Amin Asante, Ricky Asante, Prince Asante Jnr, Angie Arthur, Blessing Asante, and Princess Asante.
Paapa Asante was kind, affable, peaceful, caring, and a family oriented man. He loved and cared for everyone and always put the needs of others first. He very much loved his children and made sure they were always united. He also kept a good relationship with his brothers and sisters in Ghana.
Paapa Asante was diagnosed with prostate cancer some years ago and battled so hard until he could no longer continue. He was called into the bosom of the Lord on July 16, 2022 at the UC Westchester Hospital.
