Preston was born August 21, 1971, to the late Bobby Joe Terrell and Patricia Ann Thomas Terrell. He attended Washburn Elementary, President Drive Christian School, and Mt. Healthy High School. His mom saw that he was brought up in the church and baptized as a child. He carried that his entire life, he had a beautiful heart and genuine love for people.
Preston attended The University of Cincinnati and studied Paleontology. He had numerous jobs at Dr. Pepper, AK Steele, Dubois chemicals and ITW. He loved his comics and knife collecting, he was the true definition of a family man as his own family was his comfort, his pride and his joy. In 1992 he joined Christ Memorial Church of God, under the leadership of Elder Robert Knight where he sung as a tenor in the choir. Preston was an excellent barber. He would cut hair because he enjoyed the art of it. He taught himself how to make walking sticks from a piece of wood, which became a hobby of his after he got sick.
Preston was truly committed to his sons; they’re his pride. He gave them all he could before he got sick. He was always open and honest with them about everything and instilled in them what a man should be. Preston’s love for his family was unconditional; he was proud of his family. His most important relationship was the personal one he had with God; he held it in his heart.
Preston was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Terrell; his mother, Patricia Ann Thomas Terrell; grandparents, Emery and Carrie Terrell and Henry and Catherine Thomas; uncles, Russell Thomas, Dr. Francis Terrell, Edward Mallory (Uncle Charlie), Daryl Terrell, and Gregory Terrell; aunts, Carolyn Terrell, Ernestine Terrell, and Regina Thomas; brother-in-law, Charles Martez (Tez); and cousins, Brice Terrell, Edward Mallory, and Etrecia Mallory.
On August 22, 1993, he married Darla Lynn Robinson and the two remained committed until his passing. They took their vows seriously resulting in 31 years without interruption.
Preston leaves to cherish his memory and legacy, his wife of 31 years, Darla Lynn Terrell; three sons, Solomon Isaiah Terrell, Xavier Zaire Terrell; and Preston Yves Terrell Jr.; sister, Lauren A. Brantley; brother, Julian H. Terrell; mother-in-law, Rebecca Howard; sister-in-law, Angela Cannon-Hampton; brother-in-law, Jason D. Johnson (Rhonda); five nephews, Jayron, Jason Jr., Jayce, Jaden, and Jaymir Johnson; 1 niece, Jayda Johnson; maternal aunts, Paulette Thomas, Sheila Wise, Barbara Fields, and Lucille Morlock; uncle, Oscar (Cherry) Carson; paternal aunt, Evelyn Mallory; paternal uncles, Emery Terrell (Arnetha) and Calvin Terrell (Muriel); godsons, Carlos Nelson and Isaac Gladden; life friends, Guy Gladden, Matthew Heffner, Hayward J. Thompson; and a host of cousins, friends, and relatives.
