Rest in Peace, Great-Grandfather.
I allowed family dynamics to keep me away from you and your wonderful spirit, and then we lost you. I should have been there more to help with your care and to give you love in those final years. I won't make mistakes like those again, and I promise to continue your work of living out of creativity, enjoying your passions, giving love and caring for the less fortunate, inspiring people through golf and other activities AND showing young people a better way of life, and of love.
I love you forever.
I wish I sat with you for hours and days and months, listening to you recount your experiences and stories. Today, I know you send them to me in spirit. And I know your prayers and blessings kept me protected from so many things over the years as I struggled with myself and with life as too many "loved" ones either contributed to our family's pain or did very little to support one another through the hard times. That terrible trend STOPS with me. I won't take care of them, Grandpa, but I'll do my best to encourage them to OWN UP to all their WRONGS and to lead a better life from here on out. Still, you remain such a powerful inspiration. I strive for the calm you maintained each and every day through it all.
Your death lit a fire in me that no one will ever be able to quell...
Your loving great-granddaughter
Of the Grevious clan
Of parents who formerly abused and abandoned their children,
Siblings,
Partners,
And Friends,
And who suffered such abandonment and abuse
But will neither tolerate nor delve it out
To her own
IN YOUR LOVING MEMORY
Forever and Always,

Granddad’s tribute will be dear to my heart. I have always been extremely proud of all of his accomplishments. When he received the City of Cincinnati Proclamation in 2016 now the whole city knows his greatness. Pamela Clay from Los Angeles. I love you Granddaddy!!!

Grandaddy had a way with words. Recalling him since my early childhood, he would always have a story or stories to tell. One of his favorite categories pertained to the journey of the "Art of Golfing" how he had a strong interest in it, and how he was able at a young age, to caddie for those privileged to play on the golf course when not everyone at that time could, to...in later years become one of the first blacks to actually enjoy participating in the sport. He also distributed golf clubs to many, especially the youth, to spark an interest of golfing within others. I still have mine, and I'm sure some other family members do also...along with his treasured record album he was so proud of.
Blessings, love and support for my entire family during this time.

May God grant you peace and mercy Uncle Percy, we love you:heart:
Uncle Percy gave me my first golf club and gear! He was a phenomenal man and I loved talking to him. I had not seen him for sometime, but my sisters went to visit. He is going to be missed!
God willing, rest in heaven Uncle Percy... love you always:heart::heart::heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart::kissing_heart:

Will always remember Pop Marshall strolling into Wednesday night bible study late. He was a subject of one of my college biology class project. Funny memory is after bible study, everyone would wait til he had exited the parking lot first. He will truly be missed.

When Craig and I were kids, Cousin Percy came to our house for a visit with a 45 record. When he played it, we were surprised to hear his voice on it, playing a guitar and singing, "Gimme my guitar and my trav'lin' shoes." Craig teased him about that song every time we saw him after that, but I learned something from that song that I shared with my son and other young men who thought it was smart to be players with women: if you think you have lots of women, none of them is the right one. I learned that because Percy sang, "I got 19 women, I only want one mo', and when I get that one mo', I'll let all 19 go." I was so amazed to know that I was related to someone who had actually made a recording of his voice. Percy's accomplishments were an inspiration to all who came in contact with him. I think God gave Percy a long life because He knew that He could count on Percy to live every minute of it.
