Paul Stiggers Jr., a proud U.S. Army veteran, devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and pillar of strength, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the age of 92. His life was defined by unwavering service, resilience, and an enduring love for his family and country.
Born on June 2, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Paul grew up with a deep sense of duty and responsibility. He answered his country’s call by enlisting into the United States Army. During his service he became a cryptograph radio operator and fought in the Korean War. He served with honor, dedication, and integrity. His military service was a source of pride, shaping the man he became—a man whose strength and character were reflected in all he did.
After completing his service, Paul returned home and devoted himself to his family and hard work. After a long fulfilling career, he retired from the City of Cincinnati. He was a father who believed in the value of hard work, discipline, and the importance of showing love through actions. He had a willingness to give, even financially, without putting a value on the amount given. He was also the chef in the family—always good eating, laughing and fun times during family and friends’ gatherings. His children, grandchildren, extended family and friends knew him as a man who always led by example, with a quiet wisdom, a steady hand and a giving heart. Whether offering guidance or a comforting presence, Paul was there—steadfast and never changing!
Paul was preceded in death by his sons Paul Stiggers III, Aaron Eli Stiggers, his father Paul Stiggers Sr. and his beloved mother, Obelia Stiggers. He was also reunited with many siblings and other family members who passed before him. Though he has left behind a deep void, his legacy of love and service will live on through his family, who will carry forward his values and his memory.
He is survived by his children, Diana (Sean) Harper, Joseph (Ingrid) Stiggers, Tawanda Stiggers, Paula (Jerome) Hall, David (Sara) Stiggers and Mark (Alexis) Stiggers; his brothers, James Stiggers, Nathaniel Stiggers, and Anthony Stiggers; as well as a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were touched by his quiet strength and boundless love.
