Paul Alexander Knight was born on December 19, 1949, to Joseph Knight (Native American Shawnee Tribe) and Essie Potter-Knight in Manchester, Kentucky and grew up in Lincoln Heights, Ohio. A beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, he was the youngest of 4 children.
He graduated from Lincoln Heights (Tigers) High School in 1968 and then went straight to work at General Electric in an apprenticeship program. From there, he wore many hats during his life from driving over the road as a Commercial Truck Driver, working at the Valley Homes Community Housing to finally working at The Cincinnati Enquirer where he would eventually retire.
Early on, Paul was known for his fiery personality and a sure protector over his family, friends and loved ones. Paul’s commitment to loving others and selflessness began with the birth of his twin boy and girl Paul and Paulita. He continued this unconditional self-expression of love when he married Lorraine Arnold on June 2, 1982. Paul lived a good life honored to take care of those he loved.
Though very talkative, he always meant what he said! You never had to guess where he was coming from. Yet, he was a very fun-loving man of his word. He often displayed a loving, eagerly helpful, kind-hearted side to himself who often never came off as a stranger.
Paul had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and sing. He and his friends often entertained friends and family by dressing in matching suits and imitating the “Temptations” singing group!!
As a great cook, Paul’s specialty dish was honey-glazed Cornish Hen stuffed with wild rice. He also loved to make breakfast for his family when they visited and he loved him some Cheerios!!
Paul was an avid sports fan and those who knew him knew “The Dallas Cowboys” football team was his favorite! He also loved to fish and spent hours doing so and teaching others as it was one of his many passions.
Paul accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age. He was baptized later in life on April 7, 2019, at New Life Temple West. His mother, father, grandson Jaylon Alexander Knight, Brother Douglas McArthur Knight, Niece Evita Jewel Munday, Sister-in-laws Leda (Doug) Knight, Phyllis “Lady Bird” Arnold, Kathene “Katine” Arnold and Brother-in-law Larry Munday (Josephine Knight Munday) all preceded him in death. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Lorraine Stephanie Knight, his sisters Snowdie (Charlie) Milner & Josephine Knight (Larry) Munday, his son Paul Nicholas Knight (Serina) & daughter Paulita Nichol Knight, grandson Tony Leon Stephens, Jr., Sister-in-laws Ophelia Norman, Quintella (Kenny) Evans, Denise Arnold (Don) Kemper, brother-in-law Lorenzo Copeland, niece Mercedes “Miss Benz” Arnold, great-nephew Deonte D’maari Arnold and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, family and friends who loved him dearly.
