O’Tieno ‘Tino’ Derrico-Jackson was born on February 28, 1974 as the eldest son of Walter and Roberta Derrico. On the evening of May 21, 2020, he traded peace for his pain as Our Lord and Savior called him to eternal rest.
Tino grew up in Middletown, Ohio and was a proud graduate of Lemon Monroe High School. He went on to obtain his Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Computer Technology. Tino worked in the Information Technology field for over 20 years. His outgoing and bubbly personality made this position an excellent fit for him and it was often said he never met a stranger.
Tino loved his family and would often speak of his wife and children. He and his wife each had 4 children when they met and added 2 more to this unconventional family unit. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Tyra Blair-Jackson; six sons, Trey (Sandra), O’Tieno JR, Caleb, Judah, Adam, Daniel; four daughters, Courtney, Dominique, Taniya, Te’Omarie and also 3 honorary daughters Terez, Chanity and Emma; two grandchildren, A’Mauri and Sofia; his parents, Walter and Roberta Derrico; his grandmother, Genevia Derrico; one brother, Kunta Jackson (LaShanda); one niece, Tijuana and two nephews, Nigel and Xavier as well as a host of extended family and friends to great in number to mention.
Tino had the most open heart and passion for helping others, whether in deed, in word or by simply being present. He would want us to celebrate his life and continue his legacy by producing the fruits of the spirit… Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control (Galatians 5:22). Tino walked with these as his guiding light everyday and it showed in his character.
He will truly be missed as he was loved, ever an angel in our eyes, he now dwells above. His body is resting peacefully, his soul is now free and we are blessed to be surrounded by his love for all eternity.
There will be a LiveStream broadcast of his funeral on Friday, June 5, 2020.
