Naomi Brewster, known as “Nae” to family and many others, was born on January 6, 1942, to the union of Willie and Cleo Brewster, who preceded her in death. Naomi was the 8th out of 19 children. She departed this life on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Naomi attended the Lincoln Heights School Systems in Cincinnati, Ohio. Shortly thereafter, she began working as a Housekeeper at the Carousel Hotels and Avon Co. and retired early due to health issues.
Naomi’s parents purposefully chose her name to express their joy to God for the arrival of a healthy, baby girl. Naomi means beautiful, compassionate, gentle and pleasant, which is the perfect depiction of who she was. To know Naomi was to love her as she certainly lived up to her name often giving her time and resources just to put a smile on her family and friends’ faces.
Naomi was introduced to Christ by her late mother Cleo and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior by baptism in 1994. She formerly attended First Apostolic Church in Lincoln Heights, Ohio under the leadership of the late Pastor Mamie Covell.
Naomi loved watching her Soap Operas. Everyone knew not to bother her every day at noon so she could watch her stories, The Young & The Restless followed by The Bold and The Beautiful. She was also a frequent shopper of the HSN Channel, buying things for herself and giving any “extras” to her family. Her other interests included music and her love for cooking.
Naomi was blessed with six lovely children: five sons and one daughter. She loved her family very much and would do whatever she could to bring the family together especially around the holidays.
She is survived by her six children: Willie (Jo Ann) Brewster, Ralph Brewster, Jerry Brewster, Helen (Kim) Dudley, Alfred (Renee) Brewster, and Robert Brewster; two brothers: Deacon Willie (Mary) Brewster and Daniel Brewster; two sisters: Carolyn Brewster and Geraldine Brewster; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
