Nancy Orelean Turner Colvard was born in Clarksville, Missouri on August 1, 1933; one of three children to bless the union of James Edward Turner and Willetta Jenetta Smith Turner. She departed this life on December 14, 2023, at The Seven Acres Senior Living Facility in Cincinnati, OH.
Her mother, father, sister, Betty and brother, James Jr. preceded her in death.
Nancy accepted Christ at an early age and was united with the Maryland Street Baptist Church in Louisiana, Missouri. After graduating from the all Black Historic Lincoln High School, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and was employed as a seamstress at Feckheimer Brothers Tailoring Company for 17 years and later was employed at The Magliano Pant Company for 15 years.
She married Joseph Colvard Sr. on January 17, 1986, who also preceded her in death.
She joined the membership of The Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in 1972, under the pastorate of Rev. A.H. Johnson. She was a member of the choir, Missionary Society and Club 100. Her life was filled with giving and kindness. She always thought of others, which was a legacy of selflessness and love.
