In Loving Memory
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Nancy Daugherty (nee Frey), who departed this life on November 20, 2025 at the age of 76. Nancy was cherished by family and friends for her unwavering kindness, stubbornness, generosity, and vibrant spirit.
Born on April 5, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Nancy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and family. She was known for her love of her family, sense of humor, and patriotism. Nancy had a solid moral compass based in her Christian faith. She was also a die-hard, yell-at-the TV Bengals fan and loved Barry Manilow.
Nancy is survived by her three children: Anthony Welker, Wendi Berger (nee Welker), and Shane Welker, and their respective partners Monica, Ed, and Billie; her seven grandchildren, Ashleah Welker, Eric Welker, Gena Lewis, Nia Berger, Dream Berger, Eddie Berger, Honestee Berger, and Enasia Berger; her brother, Toby Frey; her best friend of five decades Kathy Fath; her fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous friends and extended family who will miss her dearly. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her parents James Anthony Frey and Ella Jane Frey (nee Place), her brother Stephen Frey, her sister Linda Gildea (nee Frey), and her husband J. Calvin Daugherty.
A memorial service is being planned by the family.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
Nancy will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace.
