Michael Myrick was born on January 9, 1956, to the late Benjamin and Cynthia (Powers) Myrick. A lifelong resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michael was a proud graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1974.
Michael fell in love with Yvonne Childs of Dayton, Ohio, and the two were married on November 24, 1984. From their union, they were blessed with two children, Ashley Michelle and Michael Phillip. They eventually separated. Years later, he was further blessed with another son, Anthony Michael.
Known for his strong work ethic, Michael began his career shortly after high school with International Paper, where he worked faithfully until the plant closed in 2000. He later gained employment with what is now known as Multi‑Color Corporation, where he remained until his retirement in 2023. Michael’s dedication to his work was unmatched—he routinely worked long hours, volunteered for extra days, and rarely missed a shift.
Michael possessed a kind demeanor, quiet strength, and an infectious smile that warmed the hearts of all who knew him. He enjoyed working out and could be found in the gym several days out of the week. He loved to travel, and Las Vegas became a favorite destination—earning him the affectionate nickname “Vegas Mike” among friends.
An avid lover of sports and music, especially jazz, Michael enjoyed traveling to various cities to attend festivals and concerts. Most of all, he truly cherished supporting his children, granddaughter, nieces, and nephews in their accomplishments and extracurricular activities.
In recent years, Michael faced health challenges, which he met with courage, dignity, and grace. He departed this life peacefully at home on March 26, 2026.
Michael is survived by his wife, Yvonne Myrick; his children, Ashley M. Myrick, Michael P. Myrick, and Anthony M. Myrick; his beloved granddaughter, Alyse Nyeswah; his brother, Phillip C. Myrick; his sister, Charlotte Myrick‑Couch (Carl); his nephew, Karl Davis (Shanna); his niece, Aundrea Davis Roland (Rob); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, including longtime companion Patricia Van Arsdale and her daughter Chante’ Carter.
