Michael E. Patterson was born on August 13, 1965, in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended East Nashville High School, graduating in May 1983. In 1986, he enlisted in the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1990. Michael was employed with the United States Post Office and retired after years of employment. He also wrote for the APWU Newspaper Union.
He loved the Dallas Cowboy and was their biggest fan. He also loved video games, playing chess, and was an avid comic book collector.
Michael passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette Patterson; grandmother, Henrietta Patterson; uncles, John Henry, Leroy Jr., Earl Lee and Thomas E. Patterson; aunts, Margaret Brown, Sandra Patterson and Helen Davis; father-in-law, Eugene Phillips; and the family dog, Nala.
He is survived by his wife of almost 35 years, Daretha Patterson; children, Mikel, Tyrese, Brea and Keanthony Patterson; sisters, Annette (Gregory) McLaurin and Sandra Morrow; 3 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Catherine Phillips; sister-in-law, Shawnta Phillips; brother-in-law, Danny Phillips; niece, Aaliyah Morrow; nephews, Antonio Patterson, Darren Tooson and Dalon Phillips; aunts, Jessie and Margaret Patterson; uncles; Robert Patterson and Leslie Patterson; and the family grand dog, Benji.
