Greatest Accomplishment
Her devotion to family/children, and her desire to positioning them, in the best environments, to facilitate their success in life. She was very protective of her boys, she was adamant to surround them with the best peers, while trying to place them in the best educational systems, that being Wyoming city schools. She scarified her own personal interest for the sake of her boys.
Greatest Influence
Middle name Jane, a hybrid of Janie, short for Geneva, which became Ms. Janie her mother! Lol
Yes, her role model, her mentor, her ride or die was her mother Geneva. She would always refer to every situation with, “I’m Janie”, “you cant put anything by Janie”! Lol Geneva was the matriarch of the family, she was admired by many, she would be considered a strong Black female before it became fashionable.
Her Legacy
One of them would be food: This was her calling card, when you met her, and she offered you her cuisine, you became a friend for life. One of the best cooks around, and the other thing, she took great pleasure in serving you.
Honesty: Mary Jane was brutally honest, if you ever want an honest opinion about your weight, your outfit, your mate, etc., she would tell you her honest truth, not for the faint of heart. Lol
What have we forgot about Mary Jane
Entertainer: She like her sister Helen, loved music, they loved to dance, played all the latest sounds, and threw a lot of family events. Most of these events were centered around barbeque, the Daniels family was well known around town for some of the best ribs east of the Mississippi river. Rain, sleet, or snow, Mary Jane would be outside barbequing, a trait she would pass on to her future generations.
