














Mary A. Kenney was born on October 11, 1929 in Covington, Kentucky to the union of the late Sherman and Marie Kinney. She was preceded in death by eight siblings, Joseph, Robert (Buddy), Ethel, Sarah (Sis), Charles, George, Marie and Sherman; and her husband, Alvin Kenney.
She attended the old Woodward High School formerly on Sycamore in downtown Cincinnati. For many years, she ran a daycare in her home. She was also known as “The Candy Lady” a.k.a “Ms. King.
Wherever she went, she ministered to people with kindness. She was also very devoted to her children and grandchildren.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior as a teenager. She was God’s woman of wisdom, using the scriptures. She had special love for the people who felt rejected, such as single-parent women, young children, the lonely and the lost. She was a gracious host and loved entertaining.
Mary leaves to cherish many loving memories: three siblings, Shirley Dukes, Mabel Cotton and Christopher Kinney (Marge); her two sons, Anthony and Philmore King; her daughter, Shirley Coffey (Steve); her eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends; and a devoted friend, Sister Bowers.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Frankie and Herman King.
