Mark Alan Keels was one of the greatest gifts to his family when he came into this world on September 7, 1971. Greeted by his parents and siblings, Mark’s addition to the family brought a tremendous joy. He attended Silverton School for kindergarten where, at his mother’s insistence, he took classes in ballet and he then attended Summit Country Day. His dance training would help him excel in sports and as a youngster he proved to be an incredible athlete. He attended Moeller High School from which he transferred to graduate from Withrow High School.
He entered the Army and earned his bachelor’s degree at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, where he studied management and automotive marketing, played Lacrosse, and became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Upon graduation he joined his father to work at Paul C. Keels’ Kemper Dodge of Cincinnati where he remained until his father’s retirement. Mark then moved to Canton, Georgia, where he worked in the automotive industry for several years and earned an MBA from Ashford as well. Upon his return to Cincinnati, Mark married the love of his life, Jacqueline. Mark obtained his real estate license and most recently opened Kemper Motors.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Paul C. Keels, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Jaqueline Thomas Keels of Cincinnati, her siblings Jacques Mooney and Scottie Gillylen, her children Asia (Tracey) Sims and Cameron Thurmond (Alexandra), her grandchildren King and Iris Thurmond, Mark’s three children Mark Alan Keels Jr., Mya Roxie Keels, and London Doris Keels of Kennesaw, Georgia.
Also surviving Mark is his mother, Iris C. Keels of Las Vegas, Nevada, siblings Paul C. Keels, Jr., of Columbus, Ohio, Anthony E. Keels, of Atlanta, Georgia, Crystal L. Keels, Ph.D., of Montgomery, Alabama, Timothy E. Keels of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Kim Renee Keels (Dallas) of Las Vegas, Nevada. Mark is also remembered by his extensive extended family and a host of friends.
