A Time to Be Born
Marie (Ball) Stallworth was born on Friday, June 4, 1937 in Castleberry, Alabama to the late Reed Ball and Sarah (nee Porter) Ball. She was the seventh out of twelve siblings born to this union. Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
A Time to Live
Marie confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of First Marietta Church in Castleberry. In 1955 she married Willie J. Stallworth (who passed in 2000). They relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1956 and started their family. To this union they were blessed with four children: Willie Clarence, Mattie Evon, Brenda and Angela.
She was a member of the Church of the Living God and the Church of Christ. Marie was a hard worker. She retired from the Children’s Convalescent Hospital in Mt. Auburn after being employed there for over twenty-five years.
Marie was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. While she had a quiet spirit and a rather “laid back” personality, she was quite the fashionista. She absolutely loved dressing up and wearing jewelry (the bigger and bolder the better). She would often say “I like my bling, bling”!
A Time to Die
On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at age 88, at Bridgetown Nursing Rehabilitation Center, Marie peacefully transitioned into the loving arms of the Lord.
A Time to Mourn
Marie leaves to cherish her memory her children: Willie C. Stallworth, Mattie (Gilbert) Williams, Brenda (Joe) Stallworth and Angela Pierce all of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Allmon of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Henderson ( Katie) Ball of Brewton, Ala. and James Ball of Castleberry, Ala; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will also be fondly remembered by her long-time family friend, Mrs. Ruby Johnson and Mrs. Susie Lewis.
