Marie Ema Riley was born on January 13, 1929 in the Village of Stafford, Ohio, to Earl and Celeste Young. Marie graduated from Stafford Village High School.
Marie was a homemaker as she took care of her two children, Nancy and Dale. She was a loving and caring person as she always wanted to help people she loved. She had been a faithful member of New Nazarene Baptist Church for many years until she moved to California with her son, Dale. She then moved to Columbus after her son, Dale passed away in 2011, to live with her brother, Ronnie and sister-in-law, Brenda Young. She and Nancy enjoyed going to the church Fish Fry every year as Marie was faithful to her church and many friends.
On February 27, 2015, Marie quietly slipped away at the age of 86 years old, and her sister-in-law, Brenda was with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Celeste Young; husband, John Riley of 50 years, who was also part of the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II; son, Dale Riley; and brother, John Henry Young. Marie leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Nancy Riley; brother, Ronnie (Brenda) Young; and a numerous host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, as she touched many hearts.
