Thomas A. Leigh (Son) left a message on December 29, 2020:
I'm extending my deepest gratitude to all those who gave so much love in words and deeds, showed so much respect and administered so much tender loving care to my mother. God forever bless all of you. There has been a huge void created with my mother's passing but I have a ton of great memories to help ease the pain and help with the healing. My mother was an illuminating beam that brightened up the pathway for all of us to see and follow. So let us not be dismayed but let us step into the light and move forward in her ever so present shining and uplifting spirit. My sister and I were truly blessed in a way that allowed us to give our mother the loving care which she truly needed and truly deserved. Forever live her soul and spirit and forever live her inspirational legacy. ' The Beauty of the Rainbow with its bright and assorted colors but nothing was more lovely than the smiling face of my loving and caring mother ' Much much Love to All and Thank You Thomas A. Leigh

I grew up knowing the Leighs as they were great friends of my parents. There’s so many memories to share particularly one that sticks out is the sewing “bee” my mother, Mrs. Leigh and Mrs. Garcia had on Friday nights for many years. Their friendship and bond was solid and they had many things in common. What’s so astonishing is that Mrs. Leigh and my mother shared the same birth month, the same birth year and now the same home going year. I am grateful to have known her and have truly been blessed by the precious example of a virtuous woman Mrs. Leigh lived.

My mom, Roxie Foster, past in 2017. She and Mable were good friends. Mable's passing signals the last of mom's friends. We are all left with empty hearts by the passing of our moms and the end of the people that surrounded and protected us.
Cynthia Cooper left a message on December 20, 2020:
I will miss Aunt Mabel and wish the Pat, Brother and the family well during this Christmas season. I loved her personality because she was so easy to talk with. She would listen attentively and offer up her special wisdom and advice all wrapped into a pretty bow that you could really understand, take with you and action. My fondest memory is of a conversation she and I had when I was turning 30 and thought I was getting old and should get married because all of my friends were either married or getting married. She started the 'talk' by telling me how it was when she was a young woman and how that is what women did at that time.. but then she said ... you do what feels right for you.... Wow! I just knew she was going to say the exact opposite. After we finished our talk... I lett the house with such a great feeling and high regard for her. She was truly the best and always had an open ear-- she would always end by saying she was proud of us! She was a real First Lady!

Although I never got the privilege of meeting Mrs. Leigh in person, I felt like we were friends. Over the nearly 30 years of being friends with Pat, Mrs, Leigh and I shared many birthday and Christmas cards and even occasional letters. I’m reminded that Mrs. Leigh and my mother were both named Mabel and even had the same corner Dunkin Fife China cabinets. Rest In Peace Mabel R. Leigh, a life well lived.
