Lucille Sherman Jones

Lucille Sherman Jones, age 88, passed away on June 22, 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lucille Sherman was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Nathaniel Sherman Sr. and Ena Wright on March 10, 1933.

Sister Lucille graduated from Hamilton High School in 1955 and attended Miami University, Hamilton Campus in later years. Lucille was united in matrimony to Paul Jones in Hamilton, Ohio in 1954. To this union were born three children, Kevin, Toni, and Neil. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Covington, Kentucky, and later was employed by Social Security in Hamilton, Ohio where she retired.

Sister Jones joined Pilgrim Baptist Church at an early age and became a very active member of the Gospel Choir and later the Senior Choir. She also served as assistant treasurer for the Pilgrim Baptist Credit Union. Lucille was always willing to serve where needed in her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel Sherman, and Ena Wright; daughter, Toni Lynn Jones; siblings, Noah Sherman, Anna Buckner, Nathaniel Sherman Jr., Ida Sherman, William Sherman Sr., and Lena Roberts.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Kevin Jones, and Neil Jones; three grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
