Louise Ophelia Davis was born on February 14, 1934, in Spartanburg SC to a beautiful and loving woman named Geretta Jones and father Robert Jones Sr.
Louise was always considered to be loving, sweet, huggably soft and had a Great Big heart. It’s so true because not only was she born on Valentines Day but also stood for what know about this day of Love, Sweetness, Hearts and Hugs. Louise graduated from high school and later went on to provide a life for her family in Cincinnati, OH. She became a Supervisor of the Environmental Service at Bethesda Hospital. After 30 years of dedicated service, she retired.
Louise was a faithful and dedicated member of Southern Baptist Church for 50 years. She loved praising the Lord. You can say she knew the Bible inside and out. She lived her life by God’s will as it was glorious for her. Louise also loved listening to Gospel music. Louise was very stylish, always stepping out, dressed and blessed never to impress. Everywhere she went, someone’s eye was on her. Look at her! Beautiful Queen. She loved to dress and loved her jewelry. There wasn’t a time that she didn’t look good, smell good or didn’t have a ring or two, or three on. Anyone who came into contact with or knew her, felt blessed and loved. Everyone loved to be in her presence because she was just a wonderful, beautiful and compassionate person. She was the mother of all mothers. She had a great spirit and would make one laugh and smile. Louise was blessed with six beautiful children who she loved very much. She LOVED family! She loved spending time with her siblings. She was caring, giving and often had gatherings for which everyone was welcomed. She loved to watch her Stories, old Western movies and Law and Order to name a few. She loved to cook. Anytime you went over her house, which everyday she had a visitor, there was a full meal. She was known for many dishes that are still requested until this day. Just a few, being her potato salad, banana pudding, greens and mac & cheese, and always cooked from scratch. She also made the best tea you could ever taste. She was known for having a gift for nursing you back to health, using remedies from drinks to rubbing grease for helping heal just about anything. She knew how to take care of her family. She was no doctor or nurse but would make you feel much better. Louise left her legacy behind by teaching her sons how to cook with her recipes and ingredients. She has even given up the recipe to her Famous Granny Grease, something she created with love and prayer to help heal your wounds. Just a prayer from her would nurse you back. She was that special kind of woman and will be greatly missed.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents Geretta and Robert Jones Sr., her youngest son John Wayne Jones, her oldest son Alvin Louis Jones Sr. and her only daughter Barbara Ann Young, 2 sisters Floree Turner and Jessie Mae Millhouse, 3 brothers Author Jones, James Jones Sr, Robert Jones and other family members and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Michael L. Jones, Raymond E. Jones and Donald L. Jones, her baby sister Helen Larkin, her brother Johnathon Jones and fifteen grandchildren, over 85 great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren who all loved her dearly and will cherish her memory forever as she will always be remembered and never forgotten. Louise didn’t leave us on purpose, she fulfilled her time here on earth and was called to join the family she so missed. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus. Ready to celebrate! God Bless!
