Lori Vanessa Simmons entered eternal rest on December 24, 2025. She was born on September 10, 1962, to the union of Lacey Simmons, who preceded her in death, and Florence Simmons (née Davis). Lori was one of four beloved daughters born to this union. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sisters: Susan Harrell (Mark), Amy Robinson (David), and Cyndi Chandler (Shawn). She is also survived by her devoted son, Ryan Simmons (Alexis Davis).
Lori was blessed with a blended family of grandchildren whom she adored: Ahmarie, Ahryah, Truth, Legend, Heaven, Honor, and Harlem, as well as one great-grandchild, Kamourrie. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews: Tyler Harrell; Alexander Harrell (Kate); Chansley Turner (Perry); Nicholas Roberts; Hallie Roberts; Madison, Kennedy, and Raegan Robinson Family was the center of Lori’s life, she especially enjoyed close relationships with her Clairton/Pittsburgh family as well as a host of cousins.
She was rich in love and took great joy in caring for and nurturing those closest to her. A natural servant at heart, Lori’s life’s work reflected her deep commitment to helping others. She began her professional career at Drake Hospital, and later transitioned her skills into service as a certified substance abuse counselor, working with various agencies throughout the region. Even in retirement, Lori continued to serve her community by working at the LHMBC Food Pantry. She also proudly fulfilled civic duty as a Hamilton County poll worker.
In her earlier years, Lori was active in sports and was a standout softball player on a local team coached by her father. She also had a love for baking and found joy in sharing her creations—always making sure that the people she loved had a piece of her “pie.” Giving was truly her love language. Lori Vanessa Simmons was, and will forever be, the golden string that binds together her family, friends, and community. Her heart overflowed with love, generosity, and service, and her legacy will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know her.
