Born in Richmond, Indiana June 12, 1947 to Mary Catherine and Harvey D. Reed, Sr., Linda Lee Richardson (nee Reed) peacefully departed this life surrounded by her loving family on August 26, 2026.
A product of the Cincinnati Public Schools, she graduated from Woodward High School in 1965 where she met the “love of her life” Ellis Richardson.
Following graduation, Linda attended the University of Cincinnati, and shortly after leaving UC, Linda and Ellis got engaged and married in June 1968. Linda remained his devoted wife for 58 years, as he moved throughout the country working in the field of Pharmaceuticals. During their time in Piscataway, New Jersey, Linda also worked in Pharmaceuticals as a Coding Inspector.
Eight years later they relocated to Orange County in Southern California where Linda’s life was about to change. She attended a fashion show for plus size women who actually used plus size models. “I can do that,” she said, and a successful plus size modeling career was launched! She was quickly recognized as one of the top plus size models and was signed by one of the top modeling agencies in Los Angeles, the Mary Webb Davis Agency. She was hired for modeling jobs throughout Southern California. She was booked for Designer Trunk Shows at the California Mart in LA, featuring fashions from some of the top domestic and international designers in the industry, fashion shows for large corporate and charitable organizations, as well as modeling during fashion segments on television shows such as The Merv Griffin Show the Regis Philbin Morning Show and a host of others. Eventually, her modeling career was interrupted when they were asked to relocate to St. Louis, MO and three years later back to New Jersey.
In 1996, Linda and Ellis returned to Cincinnati where Ellis ended his career and Linda began working as a Volunteer at the Cincinnati Visitors Bureau where she remained for several years
Linda loved to travel, and the couple traveled extensively throughout the US, Mainland Hawaiian Islands, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe. She also enjoyed heading to a favorite casino and trying her luck on one of the many slot machines she felt was “hot!” But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and of course her hubby, Ellis. Linda always said she was blessed with great friends and that is because Linda knew how to be a great friend. She was always fun to be around, and made everyone feel very special.
On her journey home, Linda leaves behind: her Husband Ellis (Bo), Brother Harvey Reed (Kate), Sister Marilyn Hoskins (Pleas), Nephew Dan Reed (Afia), Aunt Lilly Ruth Hill, Sister-In-Law Maxine Woodcock (John), Sister-In-Law Alesia Wilson (Mark), Sister-In-Law Beth Reed, Sister-In-Law Michelle Osborne, Grandnephews Robeson and Marvin Reed and a host of cousins and friends.
Linda is loved by many and will be greatly missed, but we can be assured she watches over us and that we will see her again talking, smiling and helping others.

There are some friendships that become such a meaningful part of your life that the memories remain with you forever. My friendship with Linda was one of those.
My late husband and I loved Linda and Ellis—our dear “Bo”—and we were blessed to share so many wonderful times together. Our friendship traveled from coast to coast, from New Jersey to Cincinnati, and eventually to Los Angeles, when Linda and Bo moved near us. Through the years there were parties, beach outings, picnics, laughter (and we laughed a lot), and simply the joy of spending time together. The photographs I share with this tribute capture only a few of those wonderful moments.
Linda was genuinely a beautiful woman, inside and out. She had a warmth and presence that made being around her a pleasure. I could not have asked for a better friend—someone to share with, to laugh with (again, we laughed a lot), to make memories with, and simply to know and enjoy her presence.
Although time passes and life takes us in different directions, the love and memories created through a true friendship remain. I will always be grateful that Linda was part of my life and for all the wonderful memories the four of us shared together.
Bo, my heart is with you. Please know that I am always here for you. Linda was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed.
