My sincere condolences go out to this God fearing family. If there was ever an example of a more kinder, sweet and loving person It would be Mrs. Ricks. She has showed me how to be a better person just by knowing her. I am so sorry that I couldn't pay my respects because I am just finding out she has left us to be with her Lord and Savior. So much about this beautiful strong black women that I could express but The Lord Knows the work she has done. She open her heart up to me while I worked at Woodford and I will never forget the example and encouragement she had given me. Rest in Heaven.
To Adoria and James Carl just know that your mother gave so much to you and other people unselfishly and we will miss her dearly. May her life lessons give you comfort in your time of grief. I will always remember her beautiful smile and quite spirit. I often reflect on her when I need to go somewhere and be quite. Thank you for sharing her with us. She really had made a difference in so many peoples lives. God Bless you and your families. Tina (Edwards) Calhoun.

My condolences to the family. Mrs.Ricks was my nephew's teacher. He learned so much from her and enjoyed being in her class. Although while her class, it was a very difficult time in his young life. I can't begin to stress the compassion, warmth and understanding she extended to him. She continued reaching out to him even after he was no longer at Woodford. He has nothing but fond memories and wonderful things to say about her. Linda not only taught, she really cared about her students. Cardion was beyond blessed to have her and Mrs.A as teachers.
As he goes through his educational career,we will remember her and how she planted a seed of desire to learn. As a direct result,I have no doubt he and her other students will do exceptional things in their lives.
She was an extraordinary lady and she will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My dear Linda who was one of my most dedicated teachers at Woodford Paideia School. I will always remember her smile and her sweet spirit that made her students love and adore her. A woman of faith, we shared many moments talking about her faith and the love and care she expressed for her students and that also of her family. I will always cherish those moments. Rest In Peace Linda. Your friend, colleague and sister in Christ, Gwen Walton

August, 2017 and it was my first day at Woodford Paideia Arts and Culture Academy as a sign language interpreter. I was greeted at the door of the classroom by Ms. Linda Ricks and I felt like I had been greeted by my own mother. Now, in my 4th school year here at Woodford, I will miss being able to walk into her presence and exchange recipes, soups, stews, snacks, laughter, and a great big hug. I am so much better because of her deposit into my life. To Adoria and the entire family, may the love and peace of God and the sweet communion of the Holy Spirit rest in and on you. Much love, Ms. Pilar Baker
