Linda Ann Grimes was born September 10, 1966 in Saint Michael’s Hospital in Newark New Jersey. She was blessed into this world by the late Eva Mae Jones and Willie Grimes Sr.
She was raised in Columbus Holmes also known as 7th Ave. projects. Linda attended McKinley elementary and graduated from Barringer High School. During high school Linda did her internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark New Jersey and after graduation she gained full-time employment where she worked for many years.
Linda relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio in December 2007 to be with her family and loved ones. She was a kind, loving person who always had a smile on her face no matter how she was feeling she never complained. If you asked, her answer was always be “I’m fine”, when deep down she was fighting a heavy battle.
Linda was also a very giving person. When you would go to her house you were not leaving empty-handed. She always had something to give you to take home. Linda loved to sing, especially her spirituals. Her favorite song was “Take me to the King” by Tamela Mann, Kirk Franklin “Stomp” and Bishop Bullwinkle “Hell to the Na Na Na”. When you went to her house, you were definitely going to hear these songs. She loved to sing, loved to pray and was often on the prayer line daily.️
Linda loved her family, especially her nephew Pook. When you saw see Linda, Pook wasn’t far behind. She loved his drawings. They made her happy. She would often hang them on her wall. Linda had always told her nieces and nephews that she was their auntie mommy, big sister and best friend as she would never let them forget that. Linda was loved by many and will be greatly missed, but we understand the Most High needed an angel, and sent her mom to come get her.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Mae Jones, father Willie Grimes Sr.; stepfather Vernon Victor Jones; brother, Willie Grimes, Jr., and niece Antaya Shanelle Grimes.
