Lillie Mae Thomas Redmon, born in 1953 in Temple, Georgia, peacefully entered eternal rest in September 18, 2025, just 2 days before her 72nd birthday surrounded by the love of her family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Robert (Bobby) Thomas and Ina Mae Brantley Thomas, both of whom preceded her in death.
Lillie grew up with strong family roots and Christian values. She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at just 9 years old at the Church of Christ in Bremen, Georgia. She graduated from high school in Cordele, Georgia in 1970, and shortly thereafter, moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to be closer to family.
In Cincinnati, her spiritual journey deepened when her dear friend Dorothea Ware invited her to attend Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. In 1973, under the leadership of Pastor Talbert Brown Sr., Lillie became a devoted and active member of the church. She faithfully served as a choir member and church treasurer for many years, using her gifts to uplift and support the ministry she loved.
Lillie was a caregiver at heart, working for many years as a Home Health Aide until her retirement. Her nurturing spirit and dedication touched countless lives.
In 1984, she married Charles Redmon Jr., and together they shared a life filled with love and devotion. Lillie was the proud and loving mother of three sons: Dewon Thomas (who preceded her in death), Sedrick Thomas, and Charles Redmon (Shayla Redmon) She adored her 22 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren each one holding a special place in her heart.
Lillie was also a gifted poet, known for writing heartfelt and Spirit-led poems for her family and friends. Her words were a source of comfort, inspiration, and love. Inspired by the Holy Spirit .
Despite suffering a stroke in 2017, Lillie’s faith never wavered. With resilience and determination, she faced each day with grace, always trusting in the Lord’s strength.
Lillie is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Teretha Allen (Nate Allen).
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Jackie Thomas, Gary Thomas, and Emmanuel Lee; her best friend Dorothea Ware; her sister-cousin Herlina Dunson; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Lillie Thomas Redmon’s life was a testament to faith, love, and perseverance. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
