Leslie Carter

Leslie William Carter, II, affectionately named “Peter Gunn” after his namesake grandfather, Leslie William Carter. He was born to Marylee Johnson and Lafayette Carter on July 12, 1962. Leslie was lovingly adopted by Margie and William “Sunny” Siffel.
Leslie attended Saint Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Roger Bacon High School in 1980. After graduation, Leslie joined the United States Air Force. Leslie worked at University Hospital (Holmes), Greyhound Bus Station and the Veteran’s Administration Hospital where he was a stockroom manager.
Leslie married Bennetta on July 12, 2002. They had known each other for 23 years. They have two children, Brittany Johnson and Leslie William Carter, III. He passed away on September 26, 2013.
Leslie enjoyed life. He loved eating good food, playing golf, listening to music, dancing and being with friends and family. He was the life of the party.
Leslie was preceded in death by his father, Lafayette Carter; adopted mother and father, Margie and William “Sunny” Siffel; sister, Emma Carter and brother, Ralph Johnson.
He leaves to mourn: his wife, Bennetta Carter;
daughter, Brittany Johnson and son, Leslie W. Carter, III; his mother, Marylee Johnson; grand-sons, Charlie and Cyron Newton; his sisters and brothers, Loretta, Anthony, Cora and Lawrence Carter, Robert, Lafayette, Harold, John and Doyle Johnson, Margie Gray, Abigail “Alice” Staples and Wala Hasan “Ella”, Donna (Marcus) and Linda (Michael) Brock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.
