Laverne Renee Davis

Laverne Renee Davis, age 67, departed this life on September 17, 2021. Laverne was born on August 8, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio to her loving parents, mother, Catherine Morrison and father, Shirley Morrison. She was one of four girls born to this union.

Laverne graduated from Hughes High School and was always a caring and loving person. She worked for Kennei’s Toy Store for years until they closed. She then worked for Kroger for 5 years and later worked for Woods Edge Nursing Home for over 15 years. Laverne married the love of her life, Greg Davis in 1983 and from that union had three sons, Dante Davis, Darris Davis, and Jeremy Davis. She was also a mother figure to Ray and Jeremy Anderson, who grew up with her sons.

Laverne would always lend a listening ear to anyone who came to her. She always gave advice that was a 100% true. She loved scratch offs, music, cooking and taking care of her family. Laverne would share her life experiences about family, life, and love. She also wouldn’t hesitate to tell you when you slipped up on your common sense.

To see Laverne’s smile through her pain was the greatest of all pleasures. Even through the pain she was a lioness that would do anything to protect those she loved. Laverne loved watching the Hallmark Channel while doing any activity, whether it be scratching off tickets, or doing crossword puzzles. One of her greatest sayings was “It will get better.”
Laverne is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Shirley Morrison; her sisters, Mary Helen Casey, Marlene “Tina” Casey and Diana Morrison.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her loving and devoted husband, Greg Davis; her sons, Dante, Darris and Jeremy Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and so many friends.
