A Time to Be Born
Laura Belle Thompson was born on a Friday, September 15, 1951 to the union of Clarence and Minnie Lynch in their home on 8th Street in Cincinnati Ohio. She was the 2nd child of six children, and she was affectionally known as Sissie and Gram.
A Time to Grow
In June of 1970 she graduated from Courter Technical High School in Cincinnati Ohio. At an early age Laura confessed her love for Christ and was baptized at St. Marks Catholic Church. While at Courter Tech she studied Fabric Service and Culinary Arts. She was also an active member of the Marching Band where she played the cymbals. Laura had several jobs that she put her heart into. She worked in a dry cleaners, as a crossing guard, a salad girl, and in patient care.
A Time to Love
Through the union of Clarence and Minnie the beautiful spirit of Laura came into their lives. Sissie loved spending time with her family and friends by cooking, baking and planning family dinners and cook outs. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. While in high school she met and fell in love with Greg and to their union three children were born Tina, Damara and Kevin. She later met Kenneth Thompson and to this union two children were born Tyler and Steffany. Laura’s love for her family, her children, and her friends was fierce and unconditional. She loved to shop, pets especially turtles, dancing, The Cincinnati Bengals, crocheting and traveling with her family. While on vacation she would get up before everyone else and prepare breakfast and the smells of the food made everyone wake up and get the day started. She was the life of the party and like her dad she met no strangers. If she ever crossed your path you couldn’t help but to love her.
A Time of Service
Laura truly was a caregiver with the gift of giving and caring for others. Even though she enjoyed cooking and baking she had several jobs before she truly found a way to share her caring and loving spirit. She did this by becoming a devoted and dedicated CNA and she put her whole heart into it until her health began to decline.
