A Time to Be Born:
Larry made his grand entrance on January 3, 1958; to the (Late) Lillie Pearl Philpot in Cincinnati, OH. In July of 1963 Lillie Pearl (Philpot) united with the (Late) Ike Binford, Sr. and together they raised and provided Larry with the Love and nurturing he deserved along with his siblings the (late) Ike Binford, Jr. and his only sister Patricia Binford Moore.
A Time to Plant:
Larry attended and graduated from Cincinnati Public Schools. It was during this time that he gave his life to Christ as his personal Savior! While in school, Larry discovered a “Love for Music”. He played in numerous school concerts bands and bands around the city early into his adulthood. He was Blessed with the talent and skills to master several instruments with the Bass Guitar being among his favorites.
During this season of life, Larry united with the (Late) Catherine Pryor and to this union five children were born: Latreisha, Dominic, Donique, and the late Larry Jr. and Tranel Philpot who preceded him in death.
Larry left his mark on a variety of employment opportunities throughout his adult life. His last assignment was as a Team Member in a local warehouse where due to his leadership skills; he was advanced to the Lead position until his health began to fail, and he officially retired in 2011.
A Time to Live and Make Precious Memories:
Larry LOVED to Laugh, Joke and share this with those around him! He was a Avid BENGALS, UC BEARCATS and Cincinnati REDS Fan PERIOD! He loved to travel and spend his time with his family and close friends. LARRY was a supportive brother to his only sister Patricia, prior to her marriage. He was her On-Time Handyman and avid Lawn care provider. No matter what was going on in their lives, they AWAYS supported each other and had each other’s back. Larry chose to be a Wonderful Uncle to his only niece; Lillie Binford-Andrews. They both shared a united love for sports and music together that allowed conversation to go on and on into the endless hours and days at times. He was her “Secret Santa Elf”, putting together all types of toys and bikes on Christmas Eve, no matter the hour………
Larry was Lillie’s On Time, Every Time, Personal Escort for “ALL” her school Father/Daughter dances no matter what! He was ALWAYS Present and Accounted for; ALL her musical recitals and events in her life.
Larry’s Greatest Honor was escorting Patricia down the aisle to marry her husband James D. Moore, III.
A Time to Journey Home:
Larry departed this life on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at Christ Hospital after his final time at the plate, knowing that He “WON” The Battle to be going Home with The Lord! Larry leaves to cherish his memory: His Children Latreisha, Dominic and Donique Philpot, granddaughter, Tashawna Philpot; sister Patricia Binford Moore (James D. Moore III), loving niece, Lillie Binford-Andrews; loving Aunt and Uncle Addie and James Johnson; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 4 bonus children, numerous cousins and close friends.
